Akon Live in Manila

I know I've been wanting to share the things that happened these past few days or weeks but there were so many happenings that I don't know where to begin...
Well let me begin with the new things at work...
Starting tomorrow Dec. 3 I will no longer be in Bonifacio High Street. Manila Polo Club will now be my second home. I know I wanted to be transferred there before because of its proximity from my boarding house. Aside from that, their operating hours is much shorter than Boni's. 7am until 9pm. I don't have to get up so early in the morning so as not to be late and traveling time is much shorter too. Also, the store is smaller so no need to hurry the opening procedures as long as we can open the cafe to guests at exactly 8am. MPC's members are super big time businessmen and super rich too.
But I feel deeply sad. Moving to a new area means that I have to leave the people in Boni High. They are the people who have been with me when I was still training to be a Barista. They have been with me too when I had my Shift Management training. I'll be missing all those times we've been together in gimicks, "session" at Andok's, and chikahan in the store.
I know these things happen at work. After all, I've seen my unit heads come and go. In fact, our current unit head is already the 3rd unit head we had since August of this year.
Second...
The incident on Nov.29 in Makati...
Due to my desire to witness Akon live in Manila, I went to SM makati amidst the threatening coup in Ayala to purchase tickets to his concert. The mob couldn't stop me from reaching my destination no matter what.
I was overwhelmed with happiness when at last I finally had the tickets on my hands. After buying, I wanted to head back home immediately so I could prepare for the concert, look for an outfit, have my hair and nails done and so on... But I was so shocked upon reaching Glorietta and seeing people cry and... people were running... what? for their lives? I was so scared that even though I didn't know why they were running or why am I running but I know I had to keep on running too.... Flashbacks of the scenes I saw on news where several people died in the explosion that happened in glorietta about a month ago kept on coming to my mind. I was so scared big time!
That happened around 5 in the afternoon. After all the things that happened that time, I was already skeptic about going to the concert. Who wouldn't, right? After relaxing for a few minutes I decided to finally go. The concert would start at 8pm. I left the house at 7:15... I tell you, I wasn't at all that excited anymore... I waited for a cab for almost 15 minutes and decided to ride a trike to PRC since there were no cabs at all that passed near our place. Then I had to walk to Kalayaan avenue, well you might not be familiar.. but that distance is almost 150 meters... not that far I know but considering the outfit I had that night and the make-up... The traffic was also so heavy everywhere. The driver had to look for an alternate route so as not to get caught in the traffic but everywhere we drove for sure a large volume of cars would get in our way. I was in the taxi for more than an hour... Imagine! From Makati to Araneta center took that long!
Anyway, the concert was great... not so great though... but I enjoyed.. I noticed there were less people than I expected. well, definitely due to the situation in Makati. But still.. Akon's great... his songs... his voice... his body.. he really has a perfect body! his muscles are just the right size... his torso and all.. the shape of his body.. haha...
After the concert we decided to go disco at Formula at tomas morato but unfortunately, a curfew from 12 mn to 5am was implemented on that night due to the chaos that day in Makati so we headed home instead. We found it so hard to find a taxi that will take us home. We even walked from Araneta to the street across Farmers hoping that we could take a cab from there but all our efforts were futile. Less than an hour was left before 12mn and we were still on the streets waiting for a cab until we finally resigned to the idea of taking a bus to Buendia. We thought that there will already be taxis from there. Well.. while in the bus we realized that not only us were unlucky in hailing a cab coz a bunch of Indians were also with us in the bus.
I was really super exhausted trying to beat the clock when we arrived home a minute before 12.
Thanks to edward at binigay niya free coffee niya for the day dahil sobrang kinailangan ko uminom ng sandamakmak na kape to drive my sleepiness away. :D
